The is a blue (yay) bertie up for sale at my model engineering club, it has R/C, a chimney cap, bits more on the valve gear, water top up and is in as new condition for £390.
I recan I could get it for £350 or lower. Is it worth it? What are your views? Shoyuld I save for a loco at Stonleigh or sumut??
Thanks

Like I said via Skype, I reckon you should save for Stoneleigh for something with reversable valve gear as you have an end-to-end line... and you already have Millie with has similar design.

Sounds like a good deal, but what Pete says makes much more sense.

My guess is probably not, locos tend to go quickly, and £390 isn't a bad price for something that costs £530 new. I'd wait to see if you can get something different, a Bertie will be a very similar running experiance to a Millie (inadvertently I have 4 steam locos with 4 different types of valve gear, and they are all different to run!)

That's the attitude I try to take, if you've got an Edrig and a Caradoc, they are the same to run, and thus it's only worth having one of them, depends whether you go for looks or running really.
