The 'box has now had a bit of a facelift ready for the new season:
The new nameboard was made from the coffee-stirrers that have recently been highlighted in 16mm today, with some left-over stripwood from an IP kit for the border. (I couldn't find an easy way to remove the old nameboard so I simply stuck the new one on top!). I removed the firebuckets for three reasons:
1. They were a bit fragile and one had already fallen off while I was bringing it back from GRS;
2. The 'box is in quite close proximity to the track at this point;
3. They were probably too high up for most of my figures to reach anyway!
The paintwork on the front of the box has also been touched up. I didn't repaint it properly as I didn't want to lose the "weathered" look completely, but the front side was far more weathered than the other three and it looked a bit odd. So I simply added another layer of brown paint to the front with an old, dry brush, and I think it looks about right now.
Unfortunately, after taking this photo I managed to break the steps off while putting the box away, so now I will have to fix them!
